In the Gastein Museum you can learn a lot about the origins of the old spa, where emperors, kings and famous people used to settle down for a cure.
The museum also shows landscape paintings by 19th century artists, interesting facts about the Perchten tradition and the history of hunting.
Of particular interest are the numerous minerals, the huge rock crystal and the exhibition on gold mining.
